This week we welcome a new member to the NBT Team, Aaron Holzer, and no the last name is not a coincidence. Aaron will be handling some of our camera work and helping out during the shoots now that Producer Yvonne is headed back to school.

What beer do you say hello and welcome with? Anything from Dogfish Head will do, but the Sahtea is amazing!

We talk about ancient styles of beer & junipers, Crazy Willy Wonka brewing, Buffalo in the Sioux Nation, Beavis and his BungHole, learn a little about Aaron's Craft beer history.

In our Master Pairings this week John rejoins Dr. Bill to prove that he can master the cork and cage. They enjoy a Trappist Westmalle Tripel with a pesto over pasta and a brie and cambier cheese. Yums!

This weeks Craft Beer Advocate comes to us from North Carolina .. He tells us about how open and inviting the craft beer community is and how much he love Craft Beer!

Remember that we are having a GABF giveaway, and we are planning an epic NBT Anniversary party .. so be sure to save the date on Nov 4th.

Chad's Full Craft Beer Advocate letter :
Cheers New Brew Thursday!
I've been a Craft Beer Advocate for a few years now and it all started when I relocated to Charlotte, NC. Only a few months after moving I happened across a local organization of craft beer enthusiast that would regularly meet to promote craft beer in the area. I noticed from their recent activity that they held a tasting with some of my favorite beers so I decided to join them for some education. Even though I was new to craft beer I was welcomed with open arms and I started to realize what the craft beer culture was... community. It took one meeting to go from hating strong ABV and high IBU beers to having Barleywines and IIPA's as my favorite styles. I noticed how open and inviting the overall community was after attending and volunteering from every craft beer event from festivals to charity projects and within a few weeks I was hooked. I knew that craft beer was my passion and I made it a point to spread it's culture to everyone willing to give it a try. After only a few short months of attending the craft beer group, I was deemed assistant organizer of the group and began spreading the word of craft beer in every avenue I could. In a short period of time I have moved to reviewing, to working festivals, organizing local events, homebrewing, and even assisting in creating Charlotte's first 10 day beer week. I still feel that the greatest reward in getting involved in this community is taking someone new to beer down a craft beer store's cooler or aisle and seeing their face after buying them a bottle they were to afraid to get on their own. The only thing better is seeing those same people take others down those same aisles and coolers just to spread the message. Craft beer is a community and I hope I can help spread its word in every way I can in the future!

Thank you,
Chadwick
